Merritt Speedway Announces Fourth of July Weekend Event Name Change

March 6, 2019

Lake Odessa, MI (Tuesday, March 5, 2019) - The race name has changed for the American Ethanol Late Model (AELMT) and American Ethanol Modified Tour Presented by Allstar Performance (AEmods) events at Merritt Speedway over Indepence Day weekend. The AEmods events on July 4th and 5th and the AELMT events on July 5th and 6th were originally named part of the “Woodtic”. Merritt Speedway Organizers announced on Tuesday night that the “Woodtic” event name is to be moved to another Merritt event scheduled in August. However, the originally scheduled races during July 4th - 6th at Merritt Speedway will remain the same. AELMT and AEmods shows on July 4th - 6th are now named part of the “Fourth of July Holiday Weekend Celebration” and “Fan Appreciation Night” at Merritt Speedway.

Special from Merritt Speedway: Lake City, MI (March 5, 2019) – There seemed to be some confusion regarding our announcement Monday about moving WoodTic to the first weekend in August and how that would affect the fourth of July weekend. The only part of the show that is moving to August is the name of WoodTic itself. Everything else about Fourth of July will remain the same.

Thursday, July 4th will be headlined by a special $5,000 to win B-Mod race, plus the first ever visit to Merritt Speedway by the Midwest Compact Tour who will compete in a $3,000 to win 4-Cylinders event. The American Ethanol Modified Tour Presented by Allstar Performance will be on hand as well, along with all the other Merritt Speedway weekly divisions, including 6-cylinders and Mini Wedges. The first of three Mini Wedge Specials will take place at 3:00pm on Thursday.

Friday, July 5th will be the always anticipated “Fan Appreciation Night”, where it will be $5 general admission and a huge fireworks display. The race program will see the American Ethanol Modified Tour compete for a $2,500 to win prize. The American Ethanol Late Model Tour will be featured as well. Plus, all the other weekly divisions. The second Mini Wedge Special of the weekend will take place at 3:00pm.

Finally, on Saturday, July 6th the competitors of the American Ethanol Late Model Tour will square off for a special event. They will be joined by all the regular weekly divisions. The third and final Mini-Wedge special of the weekend will be at 3:00pm.
