Motor City Racing Promotions Adds Veteran Announcer Matt Prieur as Chief Communications Coordinator

Michigan native to call all MCRP events including the American Ethanol Late Model Tour & American Ethanol Modified Tour

Rochester Hills, Michigan (Wednesday, December 28, 2016): Motor City Racing Promotions (MCRP), based in Rochester Hills, Michigan, has grown tremendously since the formation of the business. Under the guidance of Founder/President, Scott Menlen, MCRP continues to expand their reach not only in their home state of Michigan, but in the neighboring states of Indiana and Ohio. With that rapid growth expected to continue into the foreseeable future, MCRP has added a familiar name to their full-time staff to continue to keep pace with the rapid growth and expansion within the motorsports industry.

Veteran Motorsports Broadcaster, Matt Prieur has been named the Chief Communications Coordinator for all MCRP entities. Among the duties the Columbus, Ohio resident will perform includes serving as the Public Address Announcer of events under the MCRP banner, which already includes his role as the Voice of the Midwest Indoor Racing Series, a position held since the inaugural 2012/2013 winter racing season. Prieur, a 27-year veteran of broadcasting all forms of motorsports, will also take on the titles of the Voice of the American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) and the American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance (AEmods) as well as call several other events/tours within the MCRP schedule in 2017.

“I’m really excited about the 2017 racing season. Working with Scott (Menlen), Laura (Tucker) and everyone within MCRP has always been a lot of fun. They’ve both spearheaded MCRP into a very professional organization and I’m very honored to now be a part of it on a full-time basis.” the 42-year-old Prieur stated. In addition to his role as the Public Address Announcer of MCRP, Prieur will also take on the important added responsibilities of overseeing all communications aspects for all of the MCRP events and  tour affiliates. In 2016, Prieur was on the mic for the 2nd annual Merritt Showdown at Merritt Speedway (MI) for AELMT back on June 9th which was won by eventual 2016 AELMT Champion, Dona Marcoullier.

“I can’t wait to get started with both American Ethanol Tours and much more. It’s really something I’m looking forward to.” he offered. “The AELMT is the fastest growing tour for dirt late models around with some of the best drivers in the country. The 2017 schedule is going to be spectacular with a wide variety of tracks in the Great Lakes region with expansion into Indiana and Ohio. It really opens the door for a slew of top notch DIRTcar UMP Late Model teams in those states and surrounding areas that have been thinking about traveling to head north and race for some really good money against some of the best competition around. It’s going to be a real privilege to serve as the Voice of AELMT.”

“The American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance is going to be really good, too and the Great Lakes area already features some of the very best DIRTcar UMP Modified teams in the entire country.” he continued. “I’m very honored to be a part of the tour from the very beginning. When you think of top dirt modified teams in the country, the state of Michigan comes to mind right away and with the tour also racing in Indiana and Ohio, each race is really going to be a must-see event with the top teams from each area and hopefully from a few surrounding states.”

In 2016, the Flint, Michigan native was the Voice of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for Concord, North Carolina based World Racing Group. “It was truly and honor and a privilege to serve as the Voice of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for the 2016 racing season. There’s very few people in this industry that get the opportunity on this side of the business to tour on a national level, even for a race or two, let alone for an entire season.” an appreciative Prieur stated.

The 2017 schedules for both tours will be available in January 2017.
